Indiana woman facing drunk driving charges

Posted By Arnold Terrill Anzini P.C. || 23-Jan-2014

An Indiana woman is facing drunk driving charges after an arrest in Johnson County. The driver was pulled over after a deputy patrolling the area noticed erratic driving and speeding. She was arrested for drunk driving after the traffic stop and after failing several sobriety tests.

After law enforcement pulled the woman over and walked over to the car, he noted that there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. The officer also noted in the report that the driver was displaying signs of intoxicated behavior. When asked for her personal information, the driver supposedly gave the officer two different names and several birth dates.

Once the driver was properly identified, the deputy officer then administered several sobriety tests, which she then supposedly failed. According to the police report, the driver had a blood alcohol content of .152. The woman has a history of at least two other drunk driving incidents and an additional case pending in Indiana. Because of her drunk driving history, she is facing charges for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a previous conviction, criminal mischief, false informing, resisting law enforcement and more.

Even when facing a bevy of serious charges, the woman has the right to seek legal assistance for a criminal defense. A further examination of the evidence from the case could reveal problems with the sobriety tests or the arrest. When facing drunk driving charges, it is best to conduct a close and careful case evaluation to determine the best way to build a defense against these charges.
